Any mobile users out there?

This could be the killer (insert name of your favourite internet-enabled phone or PDA here) app. You could evolve music on your way to/from work or while sitting in the park.

I don't have one of these gadgets, so it would be great to hear how you get on with your phone, tablet or PDA.

If you can show it working in a nice YouTube video (with real-time sound and UI interaction) I'll send you and one friend (if co-starring) an Evolectronica t-shirt to say thank you.

iPhone testing...

So I discovered yesterday that you can't connect to an MP3 stream on the iPhone without a separate app...

Can't say I'll be rushing out to buy one! (an iPhone, that is)

WunderRadio

This app might also work: http://www.wunderradio.com/ - you'll need to follow the general advice from the "Tuner" comment below.

Note that I still don't know what happens when you switch to/from Safari...

"Tuner" app

The "Tuner" app by Nullriver might work. It's not free so only try this if you already have it.

  • Get the channel up and running by going to the Evolectronica home page or channel page and click the "listen & interact" button. Wait for the "connect to audio stream" button to appear, but you don't need to click on it.
  • Go to the Tuner app's search screen (as described here) and type in the following URL: http://evolectronica.com/channelX.pls - replacing X with the channel number, of course.
  • Hopefully you can then switch between the Tuner app (to listen and get the loop numbers) and the Safari app (to send back the ratings) without the music stopping.

I don't know if this works but it's worth a try!
